'Tis the Season of Farmers Markets...

June in Bend begins the time when the community can gather downtown for access to a vibrant rainbow of local, fresh fruits and vegetables!

Shopping at local markets is a great way to support local commerce and family farmers who use sustainable farming techniques.

The Bend Farmers Market is open Wednesdays 3-7 pm in the heart of Bend, behind the Tower Theater in the Brooks Street Alley Way.
In order for products to be a sold at the market, items must be 100% grown, produced or collected in Oregon.

Parking can be difficult to find near Downtown during the Farmers Market. An alternative place to park is the free Centennial Parking Garage just 3 blocks away on Lava between Minnesota and Oregon.
Interestingly, there is a free Bend Bicycle Cab shuttle that runs between the market and the parking garage.

NorthWest Crossing hosts a Saturday open air market which begins June  29th and runs through September 21st. This lively market includes vendors and artisans of all sorts, along with a variety of fresh locally grown foods.

Watch a snippet of a day at the NWX market here.

Why not try something new from one of Bends local farmers markets to peak you culinary imagination?

If you are unable to make it to the market in person, call Life Tree Personal Service and we will arrange to have your desired fresh, locally grown produce delivered right to your kitchen.

De-clutter your life!

I am a quilter and I love crafting. Over the years I have amassed quite a collection of fabric, buttons, scrapbooking supplies and more. When I enter my crafting room, I want to be able to focus my energy and time on creating. In other words, I want to spend as little time as possible searching for supplies and tools!

Having  a more functional, manageable space has been essential to my enjoyment. The wall to wall organization I put in place allows me to focus on creativity and get the project done in an efficient, streamlined manner.

What area of your life could benefit from de-cluttering and organization? The first step in taking control of your time, life and surroundings is identifying the disorder in your life that is holding you back.

Some of the benefits of an organized environment include a decrease in physical and emotional stress, increased efficiency and feeling good about your environment.

Life Tree  Personal Service provides face to face consultations in order to create a Home Organizing Plan of Action for your space.

Some of the spaces we can help you transform include:

   - Kitchen cabinets/drawers/pantries
    - Clothing, Linen, and other storage closets

    - Bedrooms

    - Bathrooms

    - Living rooms/Family rooms/Dens

    - Kids & Teens Rooms

    - Basements/Garages/Attics/Sheds/other storage areas

    - Home offices/Household Management workspaces

    - Filing Systems & Household Paperwork systems

    - Electronic Files

    - Family Calendars & Activity Charts

    - Hobby/Craft/Gift Wrapping areas

A Home Organizing Plan of Action outlines:

-Your goals for various areas of your home and life
-The action steps necessary to achieve your goals

Never underestimate the power of creating streamlined, organized, functional spaces!

Make immune system building "green smoothies" in seconds!

Make immune system building "green smoothies" in seconds!

I would be willing to guess that I am not the only one that could benefit from consuming more fresh fruits and vegetables. Eating healthy can be time consuming! The time it takes to chop, peel and cook fresh produce can make a drive through window or ready to eat meal look tempting.

I recently purchased a Nutribullet, which is a special blender with a high powered motor, that emulsifies fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and more into "green smoothies" in about 60 seconds. Now, I  tend to be a natural skeptic when it comes to items sold through infomercials, but I have become quite a fan of the Nutirbullet and want to share this discovery with my readers.

I do have a great juicer, which tends to hide away in the closet. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the juice it makes, but I tend to shy away from using it because of the preparation  and clean up time involved.

I have found the Nutribullet to be a time saving, convenient alternative to juicing, making it easier to make immune supporting, high nutrient smoothies!

One can be purchased for $100 at Bed, Bath and Beyond. In addition, they have a 20% off coupon you can get from their website (by signing up for their newsletter) @  Bed, Bath and Beyond.

You can also find great recipes to try on the Nutribullet's website  Nutribullet Recipes.

The past couple of months, I have been drinking 1-2 nutriblasts per day. I use organic greens, goji berries, flax seeds and a variety of fruits and vegetables. I can honestly say that I have seen an increase in my energy level and overall well being.
If you decide to try one out, I would love hearing about your experience!
